After the Michigan Spring Game MSZ staff had a chance to talk with Michigan Slot Receiver Martavious Odoms. Martavious is in his junior year at Michigan and during his Freshman year he earned his a varsity letter, and started 11 games at slot receiver. Odoms led the team in receptions (49) and receiving yards (443), he holds U of M program record for receptions as a freshmen. He also led all Big Ten freshmen in receptions (49) and all-purpose yards (1,040), caught at least one pass in all 11 games played, returned 20 kickoffs for 461 yards (23.1 avg.) and 10 punts for 126 yards (12.6 avg) including a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown at Purdue. Martavious listed second in punt return average during conference play that season and made his collegiate debut and earned starting nod at slot receiver vs. Utah. In his Sophomore year he earned his second varsity letter, started first eight games of the season at slot receiver and played in nine contests missing the Illinois, Purdue and Wisconsin games due to injury. He was the team's third-leading receiver with 22 receptions for 272 yards and one touchdown. Martavious also returned six punts for 54 yards.
