Analysis: Armstead has the size to be able to play offense or defense but his speed will keep him on the defensive side of the ball. Playing defense is something Armstead really enjoys. In a recent interview he told Scout.com “I just like to bring all of my force into a person when I hit.” Armstead has good closing speed when coming down on the ball carrier and has the type of physical and aggressive play that is contagious on the defensive side of the field. With an additional 15-20 lbs added to his frame he will have the ability to punish ball carriers at the college level.
