Prep Stats: As a junior Coe rushed for 904 yards and 14 touchdowns in six games. Coe also had 68 tackles, three sacks and 2 forced fumbles as a linebacker. Rodney enters his senior campaign with 1,961 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns.
Analysis: Coe has a quick initial burst after receiving the ball, but seems to run out of gas as he reaches his top end speed. He is an absolute load and is very difficult to bring down with just one tackler. Rodney also has decent vision, and for his size, possesses some OK shiftiness and spin moves. He also returns kickoffs for his team. While Coe is ranked as one of the top running backs in the country, his skill set may be best utilized as a linebacker or a defensive end (hence his athlete title above). You just don’t find running backs his size very often. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, and how he is used in college.
