2011 DE Prospect Deion Barnes took a unofficial visit today to Penn State. Deion got a tour of the campus, the facilities, and he also watched the team practice. Deion got a chance to meet with Defensive Line coach Larry Johnson, and Coach Johnson told Deion that their system would be a great fit for him at Defensive End with his speed and athleticism. Johnson also told Deion he wanted him to come down and visit real bad so he could get to know Deion personally. Deion said that the practice was "very intense" and that "it really showed me alot." Deion Barnes currently has 4 offers including one from Penn State. I asked Deion if Penn State was now his early favorite and he stated "Not really, I am just trying to get as much information from all schools before I declare a favorite or a top 5." Look for Deion to get more offers before his recruitment is done. Next up for Deion is a trip to the University of Michigan Spring Game April 16-18. Will Penn State have to compete for this top DE prospect with a rival Big Ten School? Keep checking in with Michigan Sports Zone for all the latest news on Deion Barnes.
