Prep Stats: As a sophomore, Jerrell shared the running back duties and rushed for 578 yards on 79 carries and had 4TD’s. He was also named the 2008 offensive newcomer of the year in Dulles’ district. As a starter in 2009 he rushed for 1,049 yards on 151 carries and 12 TD’s. He also added 115 receiving yards.
Analysis: The first thing I noticed about Oliver is that he rarely goes down after first contact. If the opposition tries to arm tackle this kid, they will fail. The Dulles product is also not afraid to run opponents over either. He does not have tremendous top end speed, but his initial burst at the line of scrimmage is very good. Jerrell has a little bit of shiftiness to him and he uses his spin move quite often to gain extra yardage. Although he only had 15 receptions, he also seems to catch the pass quite well.
